American Visa Journey

Many expectant mothers who contact Forever Bound Adoption are nervous about the process of working with an agency. Your worries are normal. You have likely never been through the process of adopting a baby before. Please be reassured that our kind and competent case workers are here to help you during every step of your decision making process, regardless of whether or not you choose to place your baby for adoption.

When you first contact Forever Bound Adoption, you will be connected to an experienced expectant parent caseworker. Your caseworker will gather basic information about you and your pregnancy and will usually set up an appointment to meet with you, either in your home or at another meeting place where you feel comfortable. There is no cost for you to talk to someone, and you will not be pressured into making any immediate decisions.

At your first meeting, your caseworker will gather more information about your background, your pregnancy, current relationships, needs, and support system. They will talk to you about your situation and help you identify available resources and next steps. They will counsel you about all of the options available to you, and help you develop a plan to move forward with the decisions you make.

Can I Choose Who Adopts My Baby?

If you decide you would like to continue on in the process of exploring adoption options, your caseworker will then talk to you about the type of adoptive family you are looking for. Forever Bound Adoption has numerous families waiting to provide a loving home to a child. Our adoptive families have been background screened, health screened, and have completed the home study process. They have also completed classes preparing them to understand the adoption process and the ways to best meet the needs of a child placed with their family. Your preferences for an adoptive family are very important to us. We believe you should have the opportunity to choose a family that you feel will be the best fit for you and your baby. As part of the process of choosing an adoptive family, you will be able to view online and printed profiles of waiting couples as well as videos that share a glimpse of their home and family lives.

Can I Meet the Parents that Want to Adopt My Baby?

Once you’ve identified the adoptive families you’re most interested in meeting, your caseworker will help you set up face to face meetings. These meetings will give you an opportunity to get to know the adoptive families, and will help you finalize your decision about the best family for your baby. After you’ve chosen your adoptive family, you will begin to form an ongoing relationship with them, at whatever level of openness you are most comfortable with.

For the rest of your pregnancy, you’ll meet regularly with your caseworker to discuss your needs, concerns, and plans, and to complete required adoption paperwork. They’ll be available to answer questions and help you find resources to meet your needs during pregnancy and after you have placed your baby with your chosen family. They will make sure you understand the decisions you are making.

At Forever Bound Adoption we want you to feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire adoption process. We offer a wide variety of adoption services. We know you’re making difficult choices, and we’re here to help you, every step of the way.
